Advanced, mission-specific design, delivered through robotic construction for national security customers.

ICON has partnered with the Department of Defense since 2020 to demonstrate
and validate advanced construction technologies for military applications.
From development of a vehicle hide for the U.S. Marine Corps and collaborating
with the U.S. Army to develop localized material mixes that enables autonomous construction in remote environments, our robotic construction technology makes building in remote and challenging areas not only possible but cheaper, faster,
and easier than traditional construction.

DEFENSE

Our advanced construction technology is redefining what's possible for national security infrastructure, delivering faster builds, stronger structures, and greater mission readiness for the warfighter. By combining robotic construction, intelligent software, and resilient materials, ICON enables rapid deployment of durable facilities in austere and remote environments.

Why U.S. Department of War Chooses ICON

01

Lower cost,
increased speed.

02

Delivers durable, resilient, and
long-lasting structures in any
environment.

03

Improves troop safety and
comfort with mold, mildew, and
fire-resistant materials.

04

Reduces Operations &
Maintenance (O&M) burdens
and lowers total lifecycle costs.

05

Simplified logistics and material
supply chains, with reduced
labor requirements.

Wall System

High-performance 3D-printed concrete wall assembly engineered for superior structural strength, energy efficiency, and design flexibility. Rated to withstand hurricane-force winds and capable of reducing lifecycle maintenance costs by up to 25%.

The ICON wall system combines advanced 3D-printed concrete construction with high-performance spray
foam insulation to deliver superior thermal efficiency.
The dual-bead printed shell creates an insulated cavity that minimizes thermal bridging while maintaining structural integrity.

ADVANCED R&D

Extreme Climate

We are actively engineering specialized print materials and resilient robotic equipment to enable reliable construction in climates where traditional building methods struggle to perform.

Localized Materials

Our systems utilize locally available materials, reducing the need for complex supply chains and long-distance transportation. By building with commonly found resources on-site, ICON enables a more sustainable, affordable, and scalable approach to construction.

SCIFs

Our robotic construction systems enable rapid, secure deployment of sensitive facilities. The result is a scalable, resilient approach to delivering mission-critical infrastructure where speed, discretion, and reliability are paramount.

Seismic

We are actively engineering our wall system to meet the demands of seismic regions, ensuring structures can withstand the dynamic forces associated with earthquakes. By advancing structural performance and resilience through testing and development, ICON aims to provide durable solutions in regions that need it most.

Under Water

Advancing the potential of robotic construction in underwater environments, researching materials and printing methods capable of performing in submerged conditions. Capable of unlocking new possibilities for building marine infrastructure, coastal protection systems, and resilient structures in challenging aquatic environments.

Intelligent Software

designed to respond dynamically to real conditions in the field, adjusting operations to maintain precision and performance during construction. By automating key aspects of the printing process, the system streamlines workflows, reduces manual intervention, and helps ensure consistent, high-quality builds from start to finish.

Intelligence

Our robotic construction systems enable rapid, secure deployment of sensitive facilities. By combining automated construction, precise digital planning, and reduced on-site labor requirements, we enable our intelligence partners to build highly controlled environments faster while maintaining strict security protocols.

Space

Through its work developing off-world construction systems for NASA,

ICON has established deep technical expertise, validated technologies,
and specialized facilities with direct applicability to space and national security missions.

These investments have produced mature robotic construction systems, materials, and test infrastructure.

Olympus is our space-based construction system under active development to support the future exploration of the Moon with NASA and for commercial lunar construction projects. The Olympus construction system is being designed and engineered to construct landing pads, roadways, non-pressurized structures, and pressurized habitats.

We support accelerated development, risk reduction, and scalable deployment as humanity expands its presence beyond Earth.
